Remember a few weeks ago I spoke about cutting back on Starbucks? Well, I have. But it just makes meeting friends there that much more special!

My love for this light is not fading at all.

Our niece and nephew came over and stayed with us overnight last weekend, so of course I had to break out some new canvases and paint and let the finger painting begin.

While this was not Tater's first time inside Someburro's (a family owned place that I was introduced to in college and have been to 2.7 million times since), it was her first time eating their food. It turns out refried beans are a current fave of hers.

I hate buying new sheets. Hate how much they cost, hate making decisions on which ones to buy...which means I usually only own 1 or 2 sets at a time. It was time to buy a new set and I went with jersey cotton this time. Very happy. Not sure how long they will hold up compared to the Egyptian cotton I usually buy, but I like the softness factor. And the price. And hubby gets a gold star for picking out the stripes ( I was not capable of making the decision).

I took some time this week to slow down and play a bit every morning before I had to leave for work.  I'm still working my way through this class.

1.5 years living in this house, and I still love opening my eyes and seeing green when I look out the bedroom window. Go trees!

That's it for this week. Have a fabulous Sunday!

love: gold foil card (Studio Calico kit), gold camera, gold letters on black striped background...

can you see a theme here? hint....it's gold.

And now my plea for help. How do I eliminate the glare on the top photo, right side? I've tried shooting in different light, during different times of day, but I can't make it go away. Anyone know what I can do?

This May Be Farewell....

Post Title: This May Be Farewell...

Oh. That does sound ominous, doesn't it?

Whatever could be going on?

It looks like I may be losing my domain. And if I can't get it back for a few pennies, nickels, and dimes, I'm going to walk away.

And move to a new domain. With a brand new name.

As long as change is going to happen, why not make it a BIG change.

What's that saying? Oh yeah, go big or go home.

But don't start crying just yet. I will still have my blogger account, so I'm hoping I can add a post with the new web address, if needed. I'm just not sure what to expect.

So, things may be a bit quiet around here. My domain is set to expire today, and I leave for Craftcation on Tuesday for 6 days, and I work a bunch of days before I leave for Craftcation. So, it may take me a few weeks to get up and running if I do have to make a change. So, please be patient.

What happened to my domain? It's a long, boring storing so I'll give you the short version. Google Plus sucks.

The end.

And what does the picture have to do with this blog post?

Nothing. I just like daffodils. And anything gold (yes, I'm one of the sheep in the big, big herd following the gold trend).

I Spy...La Pensione Hotel

When I took the hubs to San Diego last month we stayed at La Pensione Hotel in Little Italy. It was very different from the places we stay when we travel with all the kids! Loved having the coffee shop in the courtyard outside the hotel. And that my fave art store, Blick's, was a 2 minute walk. Not to mention that fabulous Farmer's Market just below our hotel window Saturday morning. Fond memories for both of us.

The Weekly Capture

// flowers from the march family dinner // pretties // that smile... //
// morning light // always at my feet //

Sunday was the family dinner/birthday celebration. This is the 3rd month that I've been hosting these get togethers and this month was my favorite. Trying to keep it simple with the meals (chicken and rice bake, broccoli, and cheesy garlic biscuits + lemonade + coconut rum drinks + chocolate cake and spice cake).

I decided we needed to start decorating for these events, but also needed to keep the costs down too. Fresh flowers (wanted daffodils but had trouble finding them so compromised on these beauties), and window swag. The top three were made from 1 plastic tablecloth. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud. Also, got to break out the new tablecloth we picked up at the Farmer's Market last month in Little Italy.

Tater is almost 11 months now. And that wide open grin with two little teeth, adorbs!

Can't seem to get enough of that morning light in my bedroom. Sipping coffee (from the kitchen) and going through the blog feed. It's a good way to start the day!

And this dog, always at my side. Always wanting to be near me. Greeting me at night with his butt wagging and little happy whines. No wonder he stole my heart!

Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Project Life [week 10]

week 10 of my project life album:

loves:  writing numbers directly on photos to correspond to journaling, the color combo of teal and orange, the photos themselves, the inking around the edges of several cards and photos.

Currently

eating:  a tiny bit healthier, or at least sharing meals that are not so good for us if we eat out. This means less canned or boxed or frozen foods. Also, less Starbucks. Maybe 2 or 3 a week instead of 6 or 7. Still too much, but moving in the right direction.

wanting:  more days off work. I only work 4 days a week, so I have no room to complain, but I just don't feel ready to return on my "Mondays".

loving:
the beautiful weather. Today is a high of 78 and a low of 48, mostly cloudy with a slight breeze. It's warm enough to understand that summer is very near, but cool enough to close your eyes and just enjoy. And appreciate.

needing:  to get a handle on money. I know I have said this before, but it's so hard to do. Just every day I need to practice moderation. Do we really need this? Right now? Then put it down. Repeat. Over and over again.

feeling:  peaceful. The house is quiet for 25 more minutes. Nothing urgent to take care of today other than E's 1st volleyball practice and dinner. And maybe The Walking Dead later.

reading:  The Rosie Project. Finished Where'd You Go Bernadette, Real Happy Family, and Hands Free Mama.

watching at home: House of Cards (Season 2) and Justified (caught up on current season). Watched Blackfish last night.

watching at theater:  The Lego Movie

planning:  for my upcoming trip to Craftcation. I invited a non-crafty friend to come with me on the trip, and am super excited for both the crafting parts and the girl friend parts.

writing on top of photos with my white gel pen, that top sunset photo, the way the colors worked out with the insert (one side lots of blues but when you flip the insert you see lots of oranges), hints of wood sprinkled throughout.
