Windy in Salt Lake City

Day one in Salt Lake City was cold and windy. The pilot announced before landing that it was 33 degrees outside. No bueno for an Arizona girl!

So my plans revolved around staying indoors as much as possible. I didn't do much, but I had a great time!

Les Madeleines:  Would have come here every day if I could. I read that this bakery was one of only a few in the country that make Kouing Amans. They were incredible.  Crispy on the outside and flaky and moist in the inside. Sweet, but not too sweet. I also had an almond macaroon. Not a fan. Too bad. They are so tiny and colorful and cute, but I'm just not that into them. Cupcakes still rule in my world!

City Library: Odd choice for sight seeing? Maybe. But it came up on a top 20 list for SLC, and I love books, so off I went. Amazing. There is no other way to describe it. 6 levels of books, in a beautiful building. Amazing.

UMOCA: I parked at Temple Square and walked around a bit, then hit the Museum. Very interesting. If crumpled printer paper hanging on a wall is art, then I need to stop feeling shy about calling myself an artist. Glad that I went and experienced something off the beaten path for me.
