A while back I was flipping through magazines and saw this display in the current issue of Matthew Mead. Since I'm such a beach lover, this seemed like the perfect project for our home.
I've been gathering items for the tray ever since I saw that magazine. I fell in love with the crisp white tray, then wandered around the Crate and Barrel Outlet store looking for various shapes and heights of bowls to display beachy items.
Then the tray sat empty for a while. I planned to only use things found while walking on the beach, which may have been unrealistic since I live in Arizona! Then this week I was at Pier One and saw this container full of beach goodies. And they came home with me.
Aren't they so pretty? I just gathered like items in each container, then moved them around on the tray until they looked good. That's it! Sounds nice and easy, doesn't it! And now, as I visit the beach, I can add authentic found treasures.
This last photo shows where the tray sits in my home. Right at you enter the front door, on top of the bookcases.
Makes me happy every time I come home and think about planning our next trip to the beach!
How do you display your vacation treasures? I would love to hear from you!
