Project Life (Weeks 39 and 42)

Week 39:

This was a hard week for me to pull together. I literally spend over an hour picking out all the cards I wanted to use. Why? Because I'm crazy like that. I loved the way the left side of my layout looked, but I couldn't find cards for the right side that mirrored the right colors. Tragic, I know! Finally, I got off my butt and pulled down the box of cards from the Sunshine and Seafoam Project Life collections and within 2 minutes all was well. Those yellow polka dot cards. Yep. They saved the day. I guess some weeks will just take a bit more time to pull together. But in the end, I love how the finished pages look.

And my favorite detail: the hippo paperclip.

Week 42:

I started this layout the same day that I did the one above. But I just didn't have it in me to fuss over matching colors and cutting everything to fit the protector pages (not the official Project Life protectors so none of the card fit properly until I cut or tape them). So I grabbed some scrapbook papers that I love and cut them to size and called it a day. The next day I added all the writing and embellishments.

Turns out, I don't really like this week. Too much color. But that's OK. The stories of the week are there. And I'm learning. Man, I'm learning. I definitely like less color. I like the photos to catch my eyes, not the gorgeous papers. And I'm going to be crazy happy when I use up my stash of protector pages and can treat myself to new ones that are the perfect size for all those Project Life cards I'm collecting.

And my favorite detail: chalkboard stickers. I just need to be patient and not smear the gel pen.
