Imperfections

I know Valentine's Day is over, but I'm sticking with the love quotes for the rest of the month.

I'd like to think that I've been working on looking past the imperfections. Not always great at it, but certainly getting better as time goes on.

I don't think my husband is perfect, or that our marriage is perfect. But I know that in the truly important areas, he is perfect for me. And I think I make him happy. And we do have a happy marriage.

And I'm incredibly grateful that we have made it together on this journey. Because not every day is happy and perfect. But it's our journey. And it's been a great one (so far)!

I hope you can spend your Sunday with someone you love.  Have a great day!

Miracle

Yes. It's a miracle.

I scrapbooked. A traditional page. Actually 4 pages.

And to prove it, I'm going to share some poor quality photos with you.

These are some old (Easter 2010) photos. It's part of that effort to clean my desk off (see here for more info).  I had this giant stack of photos I had printed, but then stopped scrapbooking.

Most have been added to a Smash book. But some occasions had many, many photos printed, and I thought I really should make pages for my kid's albums.  I'm rather happy with myself!

We're off to enjoy some sunshine at the zoo now. Have a great day today!

Friday Wrap

Happy Friday peeps.

You made it through the week. Yeah.

Here's the highlights of my week, camera phone style.

1.  Baby girl's birthday.  Emma turned 11. We had a family party on Tuesday (her b-day is Valentine's day). All about the neon. Tonight is the sleepover. 6 make that 7 girls invited. Not sure how many are showing up. (Don't you just love how no one RSVP's anymore!)

2.  Friday is now officially movie date day for me and my main squeeze. Last week was "Side Effects". Lots of twists and turns in this film. Think today may be "Identity Thief", but Mark is not 100% sure about this pick. Also, falling in love slowly with the new car. Love that the "full" position on the gas tank gauge is labeled as 1/1. Just a bit of the inner math nerd in me, I guess.

3.  Beautiful, beautiful skies this week to go along with the warm daytime temps.

4.  Favorite shot of the week. A blurry, dreamy sunrise.

5.  Baby girl's wish came true for her birthday. She now has a cell phone. And her friends can stop texting me 47 times a day, which means my daughter can stop running to her room with my phone held hostage during those manic texting session. It also means it was time for me and the main squeeze to update our phones (kids get passed down our old ones and everyone is happy with the upgrades). So I'm now sporting an i-phone 5 and my traitor husband jumped ship and went with a Galaxy 3. He is thrilled beyond belief and I'm trying to get all my shit stuff loaded onto the new phone.

Well, that's all the pix I have this week. Join in by clicking on the button below.

And have yourself a fabulous weekend! Maybe not sleeping party fabulous, but some almost as fun!

Day of Love

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Hope your day is full of sweetness from loved ones. Maybe even strangers (started my day out with paying for the car behind me in the Starbucks line).

It should be an interesting one for me.

It's my littlest ones birthday (she's 11).

My hubby has the day off and we're off to the car dealership. That car we bought 6 days ago....check engine light came on last night. We're hoping they are a business run on integrity and will fix the problem free of charge. But that's our hope.....

Wishing you a fabulous day. And if you want to pass any wishes on to me, I just might need one today!

Perfectly Imperfect

Have I ever mentioned how crazy my life is?

I'm absolutely sure that we have had friends and family members looks at us and think "they are crazy!  Why would they decide to have 4 kids?"

Yeah. We're not that family that you see out in restaurants, with 4+ kids all sitting quietly, coloring while they wait for their food to arrive. We're the family that is loud and crazy.

But lately, I've been feeling that my life is perfect the way it is.

We have lots of bad things happen EVERY SINGLE week. Not life ending, but certainly BAD. I have 1 young adult, 2 teenagers, and 1 tween. And they don't always make the best choices. But neither does my husband and I. And that can certainly create some drama and heartache.

But with a few years of practice under our belts, I'm learning to roll with the hard times. They are just a part of our life.

As are the good times. Which happen EVERY SINGLE week also. The times when we are all together and laughing and joking and loving and being crazy.

And even though my family is flawed, and we have not been perfect parents, I think our life is pretty good!

We're perfectly imperfect.

I Spy...Ice Crystals

Such a contrast from last week, with the spring weather.

Now, I'm not complaining. But when a girl goes outside and sees frost on the grass and icy cars, a girl has to take photos.  Even if it seems mild compared to the storm on the east coast this past weekend.

And I love the sunrise photo. All blurry and dreamy.

Stay warm today.

Get Off the Internet

SOURCE

I'm trying something new this week.

See, the past few weeks  months, I have noticed that less and less of my "to do" list gets done.

And I'm on the laptop a lot. And by that, I mean A LOT.

It's this blogging thing. But don't get me wrong. I love this blogging thing.

I love writing blog posts. I love thinking about future blog posts. I love, love, love reading others blog posts.

But I'm doing it all the time. And the more I read, the more new ones I discover. That I can't live without. And so the cycle goes on.....

So, this week, I'm going to limit myself to 15 min in the morning and 15 in the evening. And if I'm waiting in a carpool line or find a few spare minutes while running errands, then that's fair game.

But no more catching up on all the posts I've missed before I start on that "to do" list.

It's gonna be okay. At least that's what I keep whispering to myself.

Does anyone else out there have time management issues? Come on, I know I am not alone in this. Leave me a comment and share how you handle this problem.
