Project Life

Remember that post where I mentioned I wanted to start working on Project Life? Well, it happened.

Here is Week 31:

And here is Week 32:

Ok. I'm kinda loving this.  It just feels good to print some photos and add pretty pieces of paper and write something. After all, I'm a scrapbooker at heart.

I started with the past 2 weeks. The plan is to go back 1 more week, to Week 30. Then just move forward after that.

I definitely like week 32 better. It feels cleaner, not so cluttered.

Are you working on Project Life? Do you like clean and simple or stuffed full of goodness layouts?

Six on Saturday

Since May is National Scrapbooking Month, I thought we should shop for some new scrapbooking products. I love to shop, and shop, and shop for new products, even if I don't actually scrapbook very often anymore.

1.  Love the colors and patterns in this new collection by My Mind's Eye:
My Mind's Eye - Kate and Co Collection - Oxford Lane - 6 x 6 Paper Pad

2.  I love a good circle embellishment, and these colors are great.  These are by Lily Bee Design:

3.  I could never have too many butterflies, especially these by Petaloo:

4.  Rainbow colors are my fave. These are by Jillibean Soup:

Saguaro Mini Book

This past weekend I made a quick mini-book about our stay at The Saguaro hotel.

I started with a book I purchased years ago. I have a basket full of these. Can you say hoarder?

I planned on keeping the color scheme of the book simple, to let the colors in the photos pop.

But then somehow I painted the pages bright, rainbow colors. Shocking? No. Not really.

Then I got all fancy and taped on the photos. Some pages are single photos and others are layers.

Next, I added some very simple journaling on top of that fancy artist's tape.

I ripped out pages from the super cool visitor's guide that I stole was gifted from the hotel. The pages were taped to the inside covers of the book (I covered the chipboard covers first with fabric and mod-podge).

Ribbon was added to finish off the top edges of the covers. Random pieces were added to the front and back cover for final decorations.

Then I went back in with an oil pastel stick and added some grey detail to the inside of the white circles, just to grunge it up a bit.

That's it. A few hours of playtime and now I have a colorful book to remember my night of "sleeping in a rainbow".

Hope you have some time to play this upcoming weekend!

Miracle

Yes. It's a miracle.

I scrapbooked. A traditional page. Actually 4 pages.

And to prove it, I'm going to share some poor quality photos with you.

These are some old (Easter 2010) photos. It's part of that effort to clean my desk off (see here for more info).  I had this giant stack of photos I had printed, but then stopped scrapbooking.

Most have been added to a Smash book. But some occasions had many, many photos printed, and I thought I really should make pages for my kid's albums.  I'm rather happy with myself!

We're off to enjoy some sunshine at the zoo now. Have a great day today!
