30 Thankful Days (Gratitude Journal)

Remember a few days ago when I talked about starting a Gratitude Journal? See here for the original post.

Well, I'm a few days late, but I'm back with the journal cover and inside pages.

I started with this binder that I bought years ago. Then I had to paint the pink part and add tissue paper to the chipboard part.

Now it looks like a Thankful journal in pretty fall colors.

Here are the paper choices. I just went through my stash and picked out things I liked that went together. Not the colors I expected, but I like the mix. Especially that bee paper!

The pages are  6x6 inches, with each 2 page spread featuring a pattern paper on the left side and a brown/tan piece of card stock on the right. I plan on adding photos on the the left and journaling on the right.

I also decided to make this casual, meaning if I skip a day and then do 2 pages another day, that's OK.  I'll still end up with 30 days of gratitude at the end of the month. And if there is to much pressure doing the project, it tends to suck the fun right out of it. Who needs that?

That's it for now. I need to print some photos and then I'll be back to share a few pages with you.

30 Thankful Days (Gratitude journal)

Happy post-election day.

Anyone else stay up too late to watch President Obama give his acceptance speech? I just had to see it live.

I'm grateful to be off work today. Speaking of gratitude, have you seen all those great projects/journals focusing on what you are grateful for?

Anyways, I spotted this one last week on Cathy Zielske's blog. I love the ideas of taking of month to think daily about what I am thankful for. I totally want need to do this. You know, to keep my whining twin at bay.

So, last week I headed out to the scrapbook store to buy supplies. Then I thought, wait, don't I already have a ton of supplies in my home? Why, yes, I do. So rather than buying lots of fall colored paper and a new binder/album, I'm going to use what I already have.

Now, true to form, I am running behind schedule. I mean, it is already the 7th of the month. But that won't stop me. I have been taking photos this week in anticipation of getting my act together and creating a gratitude journal. I even picked out paper and cut them down to 6x6 inches. So I'm super close to getting this party started.

Come back tomorrow for photos of the "bones" of the project. Who knows, maybe I'll even have a few pages done. But don't count on it. I'm highly unpredictable!

And there is even time for you to jump up and join in! Come on. You know you want to!
