May.

The month to start dreaming about the beach.

And seeing sea turtles and mermaids. If we're lucky.

And growing plants. All around the house. If we're lucky.

And working on projects. Like painting on a pure white canvas. And learning to thread that sewing machine. If we're lucky.

22 days until summer break begins. And I'm crossing my fingers for lucky!

Here's to a great May for everyone!

What To Do With Photos When You No Longer Scrapbook

Disclaimer: I'm not saying that I will never ever scrapbook again, just that the times will be few and far between....

So, there was a time when I printed every photo I took, and then faithfully scrapbooked every one. Then one day, I just stopped scrapbooking. But I continued to print photos, because I would eventually catch up, right?

Well, I didn't. And I'm not going to. Like ever.

This left me with a huge pile of photos spanning about 2008-2011. And I've been staring at those piles for a while. I may have stared at them 2 houses ago, packed them in boxes, and unpacked them again and again.

But no more! I cleaned those piles up finally.

And it was easy peasy!

I used a few Smash books (one is Michael's knockoff version of a Smash book). And I glued the photos randomly into the books. And I wrote a few words and guessed dates. When I was done, I filled 2 books, and started a 3rd.

But every so often, I would run across a photo that tugged on my heart, and that one got moved to a new pile (yes, I like to pile up items).

Now, that last pile of special pics, I taped them to a wall. I know, so fancy! I started a photo collage on a blank wall. Totally love it, and I have room to add more photos over time.

Do you realize that means that I decorated a blank wall for free.

FREE.

Photos + masking tape = happy mama!

Do you have a stack of photos waiting for a home? Have you ever tried those Smash books? Or have you tackled the problem another way? Do share!
