Summer Sand Bucket List 2013 (Final Update)

This is the kid's third week at school.

I think it's official that summer is over.

So how did we do on completing all boxes on the Summer Sand Bucket list?

So-so.

We missed a few lot of good ones. But that's OK. We'll make them a priority for next year.

And the bottom line is that we did tons of fun things together as a family. Even with that bump in the road for the entire month of July.

Cause that's how we roll here. It's all about the family memories!

Wanna see the original post? It's all right here.

And here's that list, with the completed items in blue.

Summer Bucket List 2013 Update

Today begins the 4 week countdown to the first day of school.

And we still have so many items left on the Summer Bucket List to complete.

Time to pull out the calendar and plan, plan, plan.

Every activity will be completed (barring any hiccups) except these 2:
Spend the night on a boat (way, way too expensive in AZ)
Day trip to Tucson (no time, and no one seemed to want to head to another hot location anyway)

Here's to a very busy month of making memories!

How are you doing on your Bucket List? Do share!

Sand Bucket List 2013

Here it is. The 2013 Summer List.

Technically, we are 27 days into summer break already. But we hit the ground running with that trip to San Diego, and we have been busy ever since!

Last summer I made our first list. You can see it here if you're interested. I loved the idea, even if we did not get to complete every item.

This year, I tried to keep the list a bit simpler. And asked the kids for input (yeah, that spend the night on a boat probably won't happen Katie, since we're looking at $1,000 per night to rent a houseboat in AZ).You may notice that a few items are crossed off already. I'm thinking we may even add new items as the summer goes on if time allows.

And I wanted to create the list on something other than a chalkboard this year. So I dragged out my gigantic Moleskin notebook and created a lovely watercolor background, then added doodles and colored in the boxes with my Pitt markers.

Wanna see the entire list?

Here is some eye/heart candy for your Saturday morning! Have a happy day!

Found this gem on Pinterest. It's from The Lettered Cottage. Love this take on a Summer Manifesto!

This can be found here. It's $10. Yep. It's going on my wish list. It wants to be framed and added to the gallery wall along the stairs!

Oh so true.... from pinned via the web.

And one last one.....in honor of the upcoming Day of Love.

Hope you have a Happy Saturday!

Sand Bucket List 2012

Today is the first official day of Summer 2012 with my kiddos. They had a half day Friday, then I worked all weekend. So today was a sleep in late day and then time to finalize the summer list. We did this last year also (although it was shorter) and we did not finish every item on the list. Our goal is to check off every item this time. Some items are little, others are big. It seems like if we don't setup some goals early in the summer, the time flies by and  it is Back to School time and the lazy days are over. So here is our SAND BUCKET LIST 2012.

I hung the list on our giant chalk board. Now it looks so tiny and bare. Will have to pretty it up later today!

Updated:  I couldn't stand the posterboard attached to the chalkboard, so I had my girls help me write the list on the chalkboard itself, and even checked off a few items already. I also added the felt pom pom banner that I picked up at the Queen Bee market last weekend. I think I'm going to add photos to the banner (using clothes pins) as the summer progresses. It still need some more color, but I'm happy with the changes!

Check out Ali Edward's Summer Manifesto for another list idea. Are you making a summer "to-do" list? Leave me a comment and share.
