Hello Monday!

I know it is Tuesday, but I feel like I need a redo for my Monday. I ended up sleeping away too much of the day ( I work late on Sunday nights) and then spent most of the day dealing with constant pain. Thanks torn meniscus! I have a new respect for those in chronic pain. The exhaustion is so overwhelming when you have pain everyday, and I have only had it for a week!

But today is a new day!

I was looking at the Target ad this morning (remember, I lost my Monday). And Jason Mraz had a new album out today. Yeah. Happy dance! Had to get it on I-tunes. And then I saw that Train released an album today too. Had to get that also. And then I saw that Jack Jackson released a new album today too! It may very well be the end of the world! What are the odds that 3 of my favorites all released today. It really is a happy Monday (Tuesday). Here are a few videos to get your toes tapping today. Enjoy!

Jason Mraz-Everything is Sound

Train-Drive By

Jack Johnson-Better Together (not the version from the new album, but one of my favorites)

Vacation Recap-Day 7

Thursday

Heading home.

We tried to get up early to start the trek home, but checked out an hour later than we hoped. We ended up back at Paul's Place (had to have biscuits and gravy before we left Cali. The plan was to head south to Carlsbad for Outlet shopping, but we changed our minds to save time and we were pretty much out of shopping money by then.

So off to I-10. This is pretty much what the back of the van looked like most of the trip.

Made a quick stop outside Palm Springs to trade drivers. Then back on the road.

We ended up making the drive in record time and were so happy to be home. It was a fun trip, but there really is no place like home!

Vacation Recap-Day 5 & 6

Tuesday
free day

We left Tuesday open as a free day. That way we could all sleep in and get some much needed rest. We also did some laundry at the hotel, ate lunch at our family favorite diner (Paul's Place), ran to Target to pick up a few supplies, went shoe shopping for Trevor's aching feet, went to downtown Disney for some shopping, and ate dinner at McDonald's around midnight (plan was to eat as ESPN's Sports Zone, but the shopping ran too late so we opted for quick food instead).

Wednesday
Disneyland

Springtime at the Castle. Swoon.

The kids headed off on their own the first few hours at the park. So what did the grown-ups do? We went to Fantasyland, of course! First Peter Pan, then Dumbo. Is it weird that we were the only adults on the ride without children?

Was hoping this would turn out a bit cuter. I do have a crush on those little green men!

Katie is going through this nerd phase. She buys glasses that look taped together. I kinda like them. She even found a nerd book bag at the park that she bought as her souvenier.

I have a new favorite. Dole Whips. Pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream.  Sooo yummy! I have seen the super long lines at the Dole stand before, but I have never tried one. I'm officially hooked. Had 1 each of the days we were at the park. These are the masks at the entrance of Adventureland, which happens to be directly across from the Dole stand.

We finished off the night with a parade, fireworks, and Fantasmic. Goodbye Disneyland.....until next time.

Vacation Recap-Day 4

Monday
Anaheim

Went to California Adventure. As you can tell, the boys were super excited to have me taking photos before we even enter the park.

Katie getting in on the camera action as we brave the crowds at the entrance (undergoing construction)

Apparently, I'm a little excited. Very scary!

These flowers were incredible. The colors were so intense! I always love the landscaping at the Disneyland parks.

One of my cute hubby. You can even see me in the reflection in his sunglasses if you look closely.

Watched the World of Color show, in the fastpass viewing area. (Last trip we did not realize that we needed to pick up fastpasses, so we had to view from a different area. We were not impressed with the show then, but we were so wrong. The show is amazing! The colors were so incredible. And of course, we loved the Disney music.

Happy Friday

I'm having so much fun painting these mini-canvases. They are 6x6 and completely addictive.

Meet "Capture life". I'm lovin' the funky colors.

And "live in the moment"

And my fave, "Oh snap!"

Now I just have to decide where to hang them. Or maybe you have a place in your home where they would look perfect?

Roar

Just a silly picture to make you smile.

Katie wanted to make Zoe look like a lion. Yes, that is a piece of bread. Gotta love how the brain works on my 12 yr old!

Hope you have a silly moment today that makes you smile!
