Friday Wrap

This week I:

1.  Started back to school shopping.

Crazy, but true. Freshly stocked supplies so I had to pick up a few basics. This will be my first year with no kids in elementary school, so no shopping lists. So weird to have 2 in middle school and 1 in high school. And weird that I don't feel old enough to have such old kids!

2.  Tried a new recipe.  Grilled lemon herb pork chops. Recipe and photo from here.

Yummy and easy and only a few ingredients so perfect for me!

3.  Enjoyed a few stormy monsoon nights.

4.  Saw a few movies.

Loved Despicable Me 2. Made me laugh. A lot. When I needed it.
Enjoyed Pacific Rim much more than I thought I would. Especially since it's a boy movie.

5.  Shared a few zoo photos. More here.  And here.

It was another quiet week around here. But getting better day by day.

And it's always good to take a moment and reflect on the good moments....

Linking up with Jeannette @ Life Rearranged.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. I posted a monsoon photo, too! Where do you live?

Our kids went back to school Monday, so shopping was on my to-do list, as well :)

    1. We're in Chandler. I hopped over to your post and saw that you're in Tucson. You're the first blogger I've talked to that is somewhat local! And I love that duct tape invite. Too cool!

    1. I could bring that giraffe home and keep her in the backyard! But that would be wrong. And I totally get you dreading the end of your summer. What grade do you teach? I'm sad too for the end of lazy summer days and the return of waking up early and homework! And we're not done with that Summer Bucket List yet!

  3. I put off back to school shopping as long as possible. It means that summer is almost over. I feel like it's hardly begun. Probably because I am still at work M-F. // Great giraffe photo. I'll have to check out the other photos. // Glad things are getting better day by day. I agree, it's good to take a moment to reflect on the good. // Have a great week! xo

    1. Now that my kids are older, I like summer break (it was CRAZY when they were all little!), so I'm sad that we're down to 2 weeks off. But, I do like to shop for school supplies. All those notebooks with cute covers and composition books, and new boxes of crayons! My kids are no longer little but I still bought crayons and markers. I'm in denial! And raising teenagers is rough!!!! But it's part of the job. You take the good with the not so good. And savor the good! Have a great weekend and enjoy those days off.
